1999 Marks Banner Year for Pitney Bowes Company Receives Four National Awards for Diversity

STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 20, 1999--Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI) added to an impressive list of recognition and awards for its diversity practices, after being named by Working Woman magazine as one of the "Top 25 Companies for Executive Women" in 1999. This marks another stellar year, as Pitney Bowes won a fourth prestigious award from a national publication applauding the company for some of its leading diversity practices. This is the second consecutive year Pitney Bowes has been honored by three national magazines for hiring, promoting and retaining women and minorities in its workforce. The fourth publication saluted Pitney Bowes for its community outreach.

In addition to the award from Working Woman, which also acknowledged Pitney Bowes achievement in 1998, Fortune Magazine named the company to its list of "America's Best Companies for Minorities." Pitney Bowes is also on Latina Style Magazine's Latina Style 50, recognizing the companies that provide the best professional opportunities for Latinas. Also this year, Pitney Bowes won Asian Enterprise Magazine's 1999 Corporate Advocate of the Year award for its outreach to Asian-owned businesses.
