New features include a more personalized experience for cross-border
shopping based on country, preferences, and membership.
STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 16, 2018--
Pitney Bowes (NYSE: PBI), a global technology company that provides
innovative products and solutions to power commerce, today announced the
latest release of its Borderfree.com site,
a global online shopping experience to help international consumers in
over 200 countries and territories worldwide discover and reach iconic
retailers in the US, UK and Australia.
The site features a sleeker design, enhanced ease of use, and a more
personalized shopping experience based on country, preferences, and
membership. With more than 800,000 members, new store features and
targeted content, Borderfree.com is a great tool for retailers to use to
showcase their brands to a growing number of international consumers and
help drive more traffic and sales to their individual websites.
Cross-border shoppers in countries and territories around the world can
shop conveniently, with fast and secure checkout, member-only offers,
and multi-merchant order tracking. The new borderfree.com features new
editorial content, including seasonal gift guides and an interactive
gifting tool, as well as a more comprehensive list of offers and
retailers based on country.
Shopping hundreds of global stores is now easier than ever. More than
200 retailers are featured on the new website including brands like
Alice & Olivia, Ann Taylor, Bloomingdale's, Harrods, Harvey Nichols,
Nordstrom, and Tony Bianco.
According to the Pitney
Bowes 2017 Global Ecommerce Study, more and more retailers are
beginning to recognize the growth opportunity in cross-border ecommerce.
One-third of retailers rated “international selling” as a top growth
lever. Sixty-two percent of retailers have a cross-border offering
today, and another 31% plan to launch a cross-border business in the
next twelve months. The study also showed 70% of online shoppers have
made a cross-border purchase in the past year.
“When a retailer partners with Pitney Bowes to ‘go global,’ they may
already enjoy popularity in neighboring countries, or perhaps a few
countries around the world. But, one of the biggest challenges they face
is extending that popularity globally and introducing their brands to a
truly international customer base. Borderfree.com helps our retail
clients overcome that challenge and attract new customers to their
branded websites,” said Lila Snyder, Executive Vice President and
President, Commerce Services, Pitney Bowes. “At the same time,
Borderfree.com is a great resource for shoppers looking for
international brands, or items they cannot find locally. It’s the
perfect platform to find some of the most popular brands and shop from
almost anywhere in the world.”
For example, a French shopper can set up a free account at
Borderfree.com that stores her address and preferences, and easily
connects her to a variety of retailer websites from the US, UK and
Australia. She then can track her orders all at one site.
Pitney Bowes offers the Borderfree retail experience to consumers as
part of its industry-leading Commerce Complete ® solution platform,
which helps more than 250 direct merchants and online marketplaces ship
millions of parcels to over 200 countries and territories worldwide.
