STAMFORD, Conn. and NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 24, 1999--Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE: PBI), today announced that LinkShare Corporation, the worldwide leader in affiliate-marketing programs for companies doing business on the web, has been selected to develop and manage online marketing programs for Pitney Bowes' small business customers.
LinkShare facilitates e-commerce for leading online companies by

generating revenue in the process. LinkShare's client roster includes
marquee names in e-retailing such as Borders.com, Cyberian Outpost,
dELiA's, Dell, Esprit, The Sharper Image, and Virtual Vineyards. The

revenue-generating opportunities. The affiliate program is also
expected to generate new business on LinkShare's own network of hubs,
specifically those focused on the small business market.
"The use of an affiliate marketing program will make our suite of
business solutions more readily accessible to current and future
customers," said Bill Shannon, Director of Product Management, Pitney

with LinkShare allows us to extend our online presence, which is where
40% of small business customers are already doing business."
"Through its partnership with LinkShare, Pitney Bowes will be
able to extend its powerful, widely-recognized brand into the
e-commerce space," said Stephen Messer, Chairman, CEO and co-founder
of LinkShare. "When you combine their outstanding products with
LinkShare's leading performance-based affiliate marketing program, you
have an extraordinary alliance."
Pitney Bowes is the only company to offer a full suite of mail,
